CHANGING HABITS
By KG Stiles Neuro-associative reconditioning is a powerful way to recondition the mind for installing new, more productive patterns of behavior. By rehearsing in your mind to vividly imagine your results ahead of time you condition your mind to believe for certain you can achieve your desired outcome. By rehearsing your results in advance you create a neuro-association of belief about the results you can expect to achieve. Try this neuro-associative reconditioning exercise I learned from, Tony Robbins, a genius in the field of changing habit patterns. FIRST STEP: Stand with you feet pointing straight ahead. Bring your right arm up and extend it in front of you. Turn your arm and upper body clockwise to the right, as far as you can go, and notice where you end up, no pushing or straining. Come back to your start point. SECOND STEP: Drop your arm, close your eyes, and vividly imagine your arm coming up in front of you with your arm outstretched. It's so vivid in your imagination that you feel as if you're really lifting and extending your arm. In your imagination see yourself turning your arm and upper body clockwise to the right. This time imagine yourself turning twice as far, make it effortless and expect to enjoy it. Return to your start position and drop your arm. THIRD STEP: Again vividly imagine your arm coming up, outstretched in front of you. Vividly imagine turning your upper body and arm clockwise to your right. Feel it as if it's really happening. This time go three times as far to your right as on your first try. Return to your start position and drop your arm. FOURTH STEP: Now again imagine your arm coming up, outstretched in front of you, turning your upper body and arm clockwise to your right this time four times as far, almost turning completely around to the back. Come back to your start point and drop your arm. FIFTH STEP: Open your eyes, lift your arm, outstretched in front of you and turn your upper body and arm clockwise to your right as far as you can. Notice how much further you went. What changed your results? By rehearsing in your mind to vividly imagine your results ahead of time you conditioned your mind to believe for certain it could go further. You created a neuro-association of belief about the results you could expect to achieve.
