This Week’s General Astrology Forecast
The week starts off on a lovely note with the grounded Moon in Taurus making auspicious aspects to Neptune and Pluto.
There are numerous Squares involving your personal planets as Jupiter moves into Scorpio.
The elemental energies are moving to an emphasis on the feminine water and earth signs. The social planets Jupiter moves into Scorpio (water) and Saturn into Capricorn (earth). The transpersonal planet Uranus moves into Taurus (earth) this spring, joining the other transpersonal planets Neptune in Pisces (water) and Pluto in Capricorn (earth). Muddy waters and all that comes with torrential rain and excess water mixed with earth, including tremendous potential for new green shoots and lots of growth.

Astro Energy Report Highlights
This is general reading for the collective energies at play. All dates are at exact peak of intensity when energies begin to culminate and wane. If you have personal planets or points within 1-2º orb of an aspect that’s occurring between planets then you will feel that celestial event more strongly. Look at the Meaning of the 12 Houses below to get an idea about what area(s) of your life are being affected by an aspect. If you don’t know where particular planets are located in your natal chart, then find the house that they rule for a general idea about what’s being affected in your life.
On October 8th Venus at 22º Virgo Squares Saturn in Sagittarius. I love to look at squares as opportunities for breakthrough. They create incredible tension and force you to make that change you know you need to make, but maybe have been reluctant to do so. Squares also help you to get strong and enhance your resilience. Like lifting weights Squares help you build the necessary grit to stay the course and face life’s difficulties head-on. With Venus in Virgo and Saturn in Saggitarius it looks like an opportunity to break old boundaries and routines that maybe you love to create greater security for yourself. You’re challenged to work hard to create what you love and expand past former limitations. Limitations are most often self imposed though we can blame our circumstances for them.
On October 8th also the Sun at 15º Libra Conjuncts Mercury. Wonderful this conjunction between the Sun and Mercury are happening on the same day as the Venus Square Saturn as it will help you to be more fluid and open to making necessary changes. A conjunction between the Sun and Mercury always brings a certain brilliance to your conversations and in your relationships. You can feel more adaptable and agreeable than usual.
On October 9th (basically within orb and happening at same time as above aspects) Mercury Conjunct the Sun, now at 16º Libra Square Pluto in Capricorn. This Square offers you deeply regenerative opportunity for healing in your communication style and in your relationships. Usually Mercury Conjunct the Sun is a great time to sign a contract, but this may be more about negotiating a contract or agreement to get the terms you want. These two days are great for developing your diplomacy skills and creating a fair and balanced outcome for all concerned.
On October 10th – Jupiter moves into Scorpio for one year until November 9th 2018. The last time Jupiter was in Scorpio was end October 2005 to end of November 2006. What was going on in your life then? Similar opportunities for expansion will be available to you this year. However, then Jupiter was making harsh aspects to Neptune, but now Jupiter will Trine Neptune. We’ll talk more about this “big difference” and what it means for you in upcoming AER reports.
Jupiter expands and brings good fortune to whatever it touches. So, Scorpio is very blessed with expansion and a bounty of opportunities. All themes Scorpio will be highlighted. Regeneration and healing. Death and Rebirth. Scorpio is the great detective of the zodiac, so what’s been hidden will come to light. Scorpio is also the metaphysician and surgeon of the zodiac. There is great precision and things that usually miss casual observation will become more apparent. Scorpio is also excellent with money and expanding your prospects in the area of your life where Jupiter is transiting in Scorpio are highly favored. Scorpio is the natural ruler of the 8th house (money and gifts from others, and inheritances are likely or a lucky break in which money or your valuation from others increases, i.e. a pay raise at work, people happily pay you more for your services, etc. We’ll talk more about Jupiter in Scorpio as the year unfolds.
On October 11th – Mars at 22º Virgo Squares Saturn in Sagittarius. Mars is still within orb of Conjunction with his Sweetie Venus, who Squared Saturn a few days ago. So, this Square between Venus (within orb of Conjunction) to Mars has been Squaring Saturn all week. This is the peak day of this celestial event. The build-up and pressure in your relationships and communications with perhaps an authority figure of some sort will get resolved and begins to wane after we pass tomorrows Last Quarter Moon.
On October 12th – We have the last quarter moon at 19º Cancer Square the Sun Conjunct Mercury in Libra, Opposite Pluto in Capricorn and Square to Uranus in Aries. Something may need to be released in order to fulfill the promise of the Virgo New Moon Cycle that started on September 19th. The New Moon cycle ends at the next New Moon at 26º Libra which will be Opposite Uranus. More on that next week.
On October 12th – Mercury at 22º Libra Sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius, which spells opportunities for brilliant and fluid communication exchange with power figures and those in authority. Releasing whatever hangs you up represented earlier in the day by the Last Quarter Square in Cancer can help you make the most of what’s available. Remain fluid, open and trusting that life has your back and things are working out perfectly for you.
VOID OF COURSE MOON PERIODS
The moon represents your emotional needs. Your emotions fluctuate with the moon as it moves through its 28-day cycle around the zodiac from new moon to full and back to new. Notice how the moon’s placement in the zodiac affects your mood and emotions. Essential oils can help stabilize your mind and emotions. Generally earthy scents have the most harmonizing and stabilizing effects on the emotions.
Void of Course Moon periods are great for taking it easy and going with the flow of events and completing projects. During Void of Course Moons your emotional body is going through a period of processing and integrating your recent experiences. You naturally clear out your emotions during these periods. Doing things that helps with this natural process are especially helpful now, i.e. relaxation, yoga, movement, hot baths with sea salts and essential oils, focused breathing.
Void of Course Moon Phases are not good for starting new projects, or launching new ventures, or having meetings (if you want to achieve anything), or signing contracts and making agreements as it’s less likely anything will come of any agreement, or it will be sluggish and slow to start.
For your New and Full Moon Rituals make sure the Moon is not Void of Course and in aspect to another celestial body when doing your ritual for best results.
- On October 8 we have a 12 hour Void of Course Moon from 6:45am PT to 6:44pm PT when the Taurus Moon enters the sign of Gemini.
- On October 10th we have a 5 hour Void of Course Moon from 3:24pm PT to 8:38pm PT when the Gemini Moon enters the sign of Cancer.
- On October 12th we have a 3 hour Void of Course Moon from 8:59pm PT to 11:41pm PT when the Cancer Moon enters the sign of Leo.
