Keywords: Gentle Immune Support
For long term health and vitality strengthening your immune system is your first and primary concern. Gentle yet powerful Ravensara essential oil is one of the best oils to choose for immune support and health. Here’s why, along with the methods of application I recommend, as well as other essential oils to use for an immune stimulant blend.
RAVENSARA ( Ravinsara aromatica ) – A soft, sweet aroma with a lightly camphorous scent, similar to Eucalyptus, Ravensara has a reputation as a universal healing oil to be used for a broad spectrum of conditions.
It is especially beneficial for treating any type of respiratory illness like: bronchitis, sinusitis and flu.
Ravensara is an immune-stimulant and promotes detoxification.
Its anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties make it an excellent aromatic mist for use in a room. Or try a few drops in a bowel of steaming hot water.
Ravensara’s very gentle action for immune support makes it one of the safest anti-infectious oils to use.
Ravensara also acts as gentle and nourishing support for the nerves making it especially good for treating chronic conditions.
Good results may be obtained for infectious mononucleosis, shingles and cold sores. For shingles I recommend blending it with Sandalwood and Myrrh for inhalation.
Ravensara’s tonic action on nerves makes it useful for treating mental and physical fatigue.
METHODS OF APPLICATION:
Through cellular respiration, or breathing, aromatic vapors enter the lungs for immediate release into the blood stream for distribution to every cell in your body. Research shows that essential oils will remain in your bloodstream for up to 4-6 hours.
Compress ~ Excellent for topical application to relieve fever. Disperse 2-6 drops of oil in a teaspoon of milk or honey and add to a small stainless steel bowl of hot water. Absorb the “COOL” water into a wash cloth wring out excess water and apply compress to neck and head areas, repeat when your cloth looses its coolness. You may cover the cool cloth with a plastic sheet or a towel to keep it “COOL” longer. For Chills use a “HOT” compress instead!
Steam Inhalation ~ Add 2-6 drops of oil to a large bowl of steaming hot water, put a towel over your head to capture the steam. Close your eyes and inhale until water cools or until you stop smelling the oil. Repeat, if necessary, every 4-5 hours. Relieves sinus congestion, coughs, colds, flu and sore throats.
Suggested oils to use: eucalyptus, lavender, lemon and tea tree.
Humidifier (cool mist) ~ Add from 2-6 drops of oil to the water of your humidifier. Run overnight, or add the essential oils 2-3 times during the day, if running continuously.
WARNING Essential Oils can damage humidifier plastic and rubber parts.
