Our connections with others is primarily a subconscious process guided by very subtle, nonverbal cues and signals. Sandalwood fosters our feelings of self acceptance and inner sense of connection so that our relationships with others can be strengthened and stabilized.
Sandalwood’s restorative effects make it a good tonic for the immune system. Its immune stimulating properties act to increase white blood cell production.
As an aphrosisiac Sandalwood is useful for balancing and toning the female reproductive organs.
Research scientists have discovered the chemical substance responsible for Sandalwood’s erotic effect on our senses. Men’s underarm perspiration releases androsterone, a substance similar in chemical structure as the male hormone testosterone.
Androsterone in light concentrations smells similar to Sandalwood. Thus Sandalwood being perceived by our senses as being similar to underarm perspiration sends out a barely perceptible but highly effective erotic signal to the opposite sex. Maybe that’s why men often choose to use Sandalwood fragrance as a way to increase their manly aura of attraction to females.
Sandalwood supports the circulatory systems and enhances lymph, nerve and blood supply to all the organs and systems and has traditionally been used for skin regeneration and healing.
As a regulating oil Sandalwood is beneficial for mature skin and known to balance both dry and oily skin conditions.
Consider Sandalwood for treating skin rash, eczema and psoriasis.
A natural antiseptic it is helpful for treating acne, blend with Basil, Chamomile or Tea Tree oils to enhance this effect.
Sandalwood is used in Indian temples, as well as in churches around the world in religious ceremonies for worshiping the divine.
Use Sandalwood to enhance your meditation and to open your base chakra which connects you with the planetary family of human kind, as well as to your own personal family and your local community.
In Ayurvedic Medicine, an ancient system of healing practiced in India, the sweet aroma of Sandalwood is used to regulate and pacify both Vata and Pitta imbalances. Symptoms of Vata imbalance are premenstrual syndrome, constipation, insomnia, restlessness, nervousness and anxiety or worry. Symptoms of Pitta imbalance include feelings of frustration and anger, tendency to emotional upset and over reaction, high blood pressure and an inability to relax and go with the flow.
PLEASE NOTE: True East Indian Sandalwood continues to rise in price almost daily. It has been restricted for exportation for some time now and its value is fast becoming beyond price, making it an even more highly prized oil as well as extremely precious due to its increasingly unavailable status.
Traders of East Sandalwood think we may no longer be able to procure this oil in the near future. Because of it is becoming so rare I am now offering both my Tamil and Mysore East Indian Sandalwoods in 10% dilutions.
BLEND WITH: Sandalwood smoothes and anchors any aromatic blend. True East Indian Sandalwood matures with age and becomes ever more lovely in aroma. An inheritance quality essential oil to be savored for years to come!
